Lip blushing is a permanant makeup technique that applies colour to the lips for up to 1-2 years. Similar to microblading and powdering, lip blushing uses a handheld device and thin needle to apply ink within the skin. This procedure provides clients with subtle, and natural looking lip colour, and can be adjusted to the client’s desired lip colour. It also allows for more defined shape around the corners of the lips.
What Happens During the Lip Blushing Procedure?
Upon arrival, the aesethician will numb your lips using Numb Master 9.6%. Numbing will take 30 minutes. During numbing, the aesthetician will help determine your perfect colour and lip shape.
Using pencil liner, the aesthetician will line the lips and ensure the shape and colour is correct. At this point the aesthetician will begin using the need the apply colour around the outer lips, moving to the middle. During the procedure, we will continue to apply numbing to ensure a pain free experience. The colouring of the lips will take 1.5-2 hours. Please let the aesthetician know at any point if you need a break.
Once the procedure is complete, the aesthetician will gently clean the lips and apply healing cream.
What Can I Expect After The Lip Blushing Procedure?
After the procedure there will be redness and swelling. Lips can be quite sensitive so it may look like you participated in the Kylie Jenner Lip Plump Challenge immediately following the appointment.

- During the next few hours there may be excess lymph fluid which oozes from the lips. Gently dab up the fluid with a clean tissue.
- Wash your lips morning and night with gentle soap and use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds. Rinse with water and gently pat dry with tissue.
- Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of Tina Davies After Care (provided) 3 times a day with a clean cotton swab.
- Apply a light layer of Aquaphor for added hydration throughout the day, as needed.

Healing can take up to 7 days.
Day 1 you will experience redness, swelling, soreness.
Day 2 the lips may still hold some swelling but will begin to dry. As the lips heal, they will appear darker than the decided color, do not fret. They become lighter over the healing period.
Days 2-7 you will experience some peeling of the lip. Try not to pick at the lips as this can cause injury. Continue to apply aquaphor for added hydration.
We expect healing to be mostly complete in one week. It is normal for some dryness and peeling after the 1 week period.
